"After many years of talking, planning, researching and developing, Boeing is finally launching its in-flight Internet service. The service, called Connexion, will initially be offered to Lufthansa passengers, and several other airlines have also agreed to offer the service, including British Airways, All Nippon Airways, China Airlines and Singapore Airlines.

Connexion will be an Internet service offered to wireless laptop users. Use of the system involves signing up beforehand at Connexion's web site or accessing it in-flight. The service will cost $ 9.95 for 30 minutes or $ 29,95 for full access on a flight of six hours and longer. It is hoped that business travellers will be swayed to travel on an airline that has the Connexion facility. This marketing edge will of course only remain until all airlines start offering it!
